Blued half octagon barrel has normal wear for its age, otherwise very good condition for age, brass butt plate & trigger guard show some honest wear, wood stock shows crack near barrel and some scuffs and scratches, otherwise good condition, wooden ram rod, missing rear sights, mechanically sound, stamped "SMITH'S IMPROVED PATENT STUD LOCK" on top of action, no serial number noted, dates approximately mid 19th century, overall good condition for age.
