Authentic Winchester Signal Cannon, circa 1908 - 1930's. Stamped on top of barrel: "Manufactured by the WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / New Haven, CONN. U.S.A. Patented August 20, 1901 / 10 GA." The 10 ga. breech loading cannon was designed by Charles H. Griffin for the Winchester Repeating Arms Company of New Haven, Connecticut, with the patent granted on August 20, 1901. In 1908 Winchester changed the barrel design of the cannon by increasing the outside diameter of the muzzle from 1 inch to 1 1/4 inch. This cannon has the outside muzzle diameter of 1 1/4 inch. Barrel is in the "bright", with the matching part number of 582D on underside of barrel & trunnion. This is not a serial number, but was stamped on both the barrel and trunnion during production, after they were threaded and then locked together, to identify they were of compatible timing. Some say this number may be a production number of a year.

This bayonet is 21 inches in overall length, with 18" blade. Comes with original metal scabbard with leather belt loop which is stamped "ARSENAL 1903" on back of leather belt loop, and a metal "US" button on the front. Bayonet is stamped "US" at top of blade. Excellent condition for it's age.

Socket Bayonet has overall length of 21 & 3/4 inches, with 19" blade. Stamped "6366" on one side of neck, and either "1866" or "1066" on other side.

Overall length of 14 - 1/2 inches with 10 inch blade. Bayonet VG + condition. Leather scabbard/sheath in VG.

Top of blade stamped "US" on one side, other side stamped "1901". Overall length 16 -1/4 inches with 11 - 1/2 inch blade. "X" carved in wood handle.

Overall length of 17 inches with 11 - 1/2 inch blade. Top of blade stamped "CSZ / P"

Overall length 20 inches with 15 - 1/2 inch blade.

This Church Safe operates by both a combination dial in conjunction with a key; the combination dial has to be set correctly for the key to be able to turn the lock. The key hole is rather concealed. This safe is attributed as being made in Belgium in the 1800's and belonged to a Lutheran Church in Germany in the early 1900's (or earlier). In the beginning of World War II, the safe was taken from the church (by an unidentified supporter of the church) and buried in a field to save it and its contents from the Nazi Germany soldiers. It reportedly contained a significant amount of money. Sometime after the WWII, a farmer plowing this field struck it with his plow, and dug it up. It was later learned that it belonged to the Lutheran church, and was returned. The church authorities still had the key and combination, but were apparently unaware of the location in which the safe was hidden. The safe was opened and all the contents were reportedly still inside and relatively undamaged. Size & weight: approx. 17 inches wide x 10 inches in height x 12.5 inches deep, and weighs 100 +/- LBS.
